New Mexico prosecutors have officially dropped the manslaughter charges against Alec Baldwin related to the fatal 2021 shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the filming of the movie 'Rust'. On Monday, special prosecutor Kari Morrissey withdrew her appeal to reinstate the charges after a judge dismissed the case in July due to concerns over withheld evidence. Baldwin's lawyers called the decision his final vindication, stating, 'This was an unspeakable tragedy but Alec Baldwin committed no crime.' This decision effectively ends the criminal proceedings against Baldwin.
