A pro-Palestinian demonstrator was shot in the stomach after charging through traffic and tackling a pro-Israel Iraq war veteran during a protest in Newtonville, Massachusetts. The incident occurred at a pro-Israel rally on Thursday night at the intersection of Washington and Harvard Streets. The shooter, identified as Scott Hayes, fired in self-defense and later provided first aid to the injured attacker. The injured man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hayes has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and violation of a constitutional right causing injury. The Middlesex County District Attorney's office is investigating the incident.
