Dec 30, 2024, 11:27 AM
President Joe Biden announced nearly $2.5 billion in additional security assistance for Ukraine as the country continues to defend its independence and freedom from Russian aggression. "I am proud to announce nearly $2.5 billion in security assistance for Ukraine," Biden said. The package includes a $1.25 billion drawdown for the Ukrainian military and a $1.22 billion allocation under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). The Pentagon is in the process of delivering hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds, thousands of rockets, and hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukraine. The assistance includes artillery shells, missiles, and armored vehicles to strengthen Ukraine ahead of winter. This new aid package is one of the largest military assistance packages to Ukraine to date.
