VisitPras Michel Sues Lauryn Hill Over Canceled Fugees Reunion Tour; Hill Calls Lawsuit 'Baseless'
Oct 1, 2024, 07:45 PM
Pras Michel, a founding member of the Grammy-winning hip-hop group The Fugees, has filed a lawsuit against his bandmate Lauryn Hill in federal court, accusing her of fraud, breach of contract, and attempting to take over the group's trademark over their canceled 2023 reunion tour. The lawsuit alleges that Hill mismanaged the setup, marketing, and budgeting of the tour and attempted to profit personally by secretly diverting funds. Pras claims that Hill's actions were 'a veiled and devious attempt to make a big score for herself,' and that her 'arrogance' and 'narcissistic tendencies' sabotaged the tour. He also alleges that Hill rejected a $5 million offer from Coachella without consulting the other band members. The tour, which was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of The Fugees, was canceled in August. In response, Lauryn Hill has called the lawsuit 'baseless' and 'full of false claims and unwarranted attacks.'
