Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has pledged to use Poland's current six-month rotating presidency of the European Union to accelerate Ukraine's path to EU membership. Tusk made these remarks during a meeting in Warsaw alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasizing Poland's commitment to breaking the standstill in Ukraine's accession process. Poland, a key supporter of Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia, aims to leverage its presidency to push Ukraine's membership quest forward. The visit by Zelenskyy to Poland also marked progress on historical issues, including an agreement on the exhumation of Polish victims of World War II-era massacres by Ukrainian nationalists, a longstanding source of tension between the two nations.
