VisitPolice Report Released: Woman Alleges 2017 Sexual Assault by Trump's Defense Pick Pete Hegseth
Nov 21, 2024, 08:30 AM
Police reports released on Wednesday night provide detailed accounts of sexual assault allegations against Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and President Trump's pick for Secretary of Defense. The alleged incident occurred in 2017 after Hegseth gave a keynote speech at a political convention in California. The accuser, a 30-year-old woman referred to as Jane Doe, claimed that Hegseth took her phone, blocked the hotel room door when she tried to leave, and sexually assaulted her. She believed that something might have been slipped into her drink, as she did not remember most of the night's events. The incident was first reported by a nurse when the woman submitted for a rape-kit exam at a local hospital. The reports also include Hegseth's denial of any coercive behavior. Hotel staff reportedly corroborated that there was a public argument between Hegseth and the woman. Additionally, two other women at the event alleged that Hegseth placed a hand on their thighs and invited them to his hotel room.
