VisitPoland Calls for End to Benefits for Ukrainian Men of Military Age in Europe
Sep 14, 2024, 10:55 PM
Poland's Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, has called for an end to welfare benefits for Ukrainian men of military age living in European countries. Sikorski, who made the statement during a visit to Kyiv, argued that halting these benefits would help Ukraine mobilize more troops to fight Russian forces. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has approved Poland's initiative, which aims to ensure that Ukrainian men subject to mobilization do not evade the draft by residing in Europe. This measure comes amid ongoing efforts to bolster Ukraine's military capabilities in its conflict with Russia. According to Reuters, more than 4.1 million Ukrainian men are currently living in Europe.
