Permira Completes $7.2B Acquisition of Squarespace, Sells Tock to Amex for $400M

Private equity firm Permira has completed its acquisition of website builder Squarespace after raising its bid to $7.2 billion. As part of the transaction, Squarespace has sold its restaurant reservation service, Tock, to American Express for $400 million. This acquisition means Squarespace is no longer a publicly-traded company, with Permira procuring all remaining common stock in the firm.
