VisitPaul Pogba’s Four-Year Doping Ban Reduced to 18 Months; Returns in 2025
Oct 4, 2024, 05:12 PM
Paul Pogba, 31, has had his four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months following a successful appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The French midfielder, who tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency's banned list, was confirmed by CAS to have unintentionally ingested the substance. DHEA reportedly boosts testosterone but only affects females. With the reduction, Pogba can resume training with Juventus in January 2025 and is eligible to play matches from March 2025. His initial fine has also been set aside. Pogba expressed relief, saying, 'Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again.'
