Dec 28, 2024, 03:59 PM
Paul Bamba, a professional boxer from Puerto Rico, has died at the age of 35, just six days after winning the WBA Gold Cruiserweight title. Bamba's manager, the R&B singer Ne-Yo, announced his passing on social media. The cause of death was not disclosed. Bamba had an impressive year in 2024, achieving 14 knockouts in as many fights, surpassing Mike Tyson's record for the most fights in a year. His final victory was against Rogelio Medina on December 21, 2024, in New Jersey. Bamba had signed with Ne-Yo's management company earlier in the year and had challenged Jake Paul to a fight in 2025 following his title win. His career record stood at 19-3 with 18 knockouts, and he was known for inspiring many with his drive and determination.
