VisitPadres Win Game 3, Take 2-1 NLDS Lead Over Dodgers 6-5
Oct 9, 2024, 03:52 AM
The San Diego Padres have taken a commanding 2-1 lead in the National League Division Series (NLDS) against the Los Angeles Dodgers after a 6-5 victory in Game 3. The Padres scored six runs in the second inning and held off a late comeback attempt by the Dodgers. San Diego's bullpen delivered four near-perfect innings to secure the win, with Robert Suarez closing the door. The Dodgers now face elimination and must win the next two games to advance. If the Padres win Game 4, they will advance to the National League Championship Series (NLCS) for the fourth time in franchise history. Padres' manager Mike Shildt announced that Dylan Cease will start Game 4 on short rest, while Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts confirmed it will be a bullpen game for Los Angeles. The game will be held at Petco Park.
