VisitOver $60 Million Raised for Kamala Harris's Campaign as Biden Steps Aside
Jul 22, 2024, 03:48 AM
In an unprecedented show of support, over $60 million has been raised for Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign since 1:46 PM this afternoon. The fundraising efforts were spearheaded by the group Win With Black Women, which organized a call that saw participation from over 44,000 Black women and allies. The call, which was initially planned for 1,000 participants, had to enlist the help of Zoom's CEO to accommodate the overwhelming response. During the call, $1 million was raised in just three hours, including $620,000 in the first three hours. Individual efforts like David Hogg's raised $207,000 in one hour, surpassing his initial goal of $100,000. The call was organized shortly after President Joe Biden stepped aside and announced his endorsement of Harris for the nomination.
