VisitOsakaMetUniv_en Develops AI Model to Accurately Estimate Lung Function Using Chest X-Rays
Jul 9, 2024, 05:34 AM
A new AI model has been developed by OsakaMetUniv_en that can accurately estimate lung function using chest X-rays. This deep learning-based model, validated through a multi-institutional study in Japan led by DaijuUeda, adds to a growing list of AI-enabled readouts from chest X-rays, which already include coronary calcium score, heart ejection fraction, Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, and 10-year cardiovascular disease risk. The model was trained on healthy subjects to quantify impairment and disease severity.
