Oregon defeated Penn State 45-37 to win the Big Ten Championship in their first season as conference newcomers, securing a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff. The Ducks improved to 13-0, completing an undefeated season. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel completed 22 of 32 passes for 283 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Wide receiver Tez Johnson contributed with 11 receptions for 181 yards and a touchdown. Penn State quarterback Drew Allar threw multiple touchdowns, including a notable pass to Trey Wallace, but also threw a critical interception to Nikko Reed late in the fourth quarter. Despite Penn State's strong offensive performance, including averaging 8.3 yards per rush, Oregon's speed and efficiency proved insurmountable. The Ducks will play in the Rose Bowl on January 1st.
