VisitOrbán's Fidesz, Austria's FPÖ, Czech ANO Form New Far-Right Bloc in European Parliament
Jun 30, 2024, 09:13 AM
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has announced the formation of a new political group in the European Parliament. The alliance includes Austria's Freedom Party (FPÖ) led by Herbert Kickl and the Czech ANO party led by former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. Orbán's Fidesz party is also part of this coalition. The group, which aims to become the largest far-right bloc in the European Parliament, was formalized with the signing of a 'Patriotic Manifesto' on Sunday morning in Vienna. Orbán has been vocal about his opposition to Brussels and has pledged to 'Make Europe Great Again.' The announcement comes as Hungary prepares to take over the EU's rotating presidency on Monday.
