VisitOrban Invites Netanyahu to Hungary, Defies ICC Warrant and Guarantees Safety
Nov 22, 2024, 09:11 AM
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that he would invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Hungary, guaranteeing Netanyahu's freedom and safety despite the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against him. Orban criticized the ICC's decision as 'brazen, cynical and completely unacceptable,' accusing the court of 'interfering in an ongoing conflict for political purposes.' He stated that the warrant would 'have no effect in Hungary.' Hungary is the first ICC member country to publicly declare it will ignore the court’s warrant against Netanyahu. Netanyahu thanked Orban for his support, calling him a true friend.
