VisitOrange County Issues Do Not Drink Advisory Amid Water Contamination Concerns
Aug 25, 2024, 10:07 PM
Authorities in Orange County, Virginia, have issued a Do Not Drink Advisory following recent water quality tests conducted by the Rapidan Service Authority (RSA). The advisory, which replaced a previous Do Not Use Advisory, comes after residents reported their water smelling like paint thinner, gasoline, and diesel. While the water remains unsafe for drinking or ingestion, it is deemed acceptable for bathing, washing, and flushing. The Virginia Department of Health is involved in monitoring the situation. In a related incident, contaminated water was also found in two Harford County schools, prompting warnings for students to avoid drinking the water.
