OpenAI Launches Operator AI Agent for $200/Month to U.S. Subscribers, Automating Online Tasks
Jan 27, 2025, 10:30 AM
OpenAI has launched Operator, a new AI agent designed to automate online tasks by interacting with web browsers. The agent, available initially to ChatGPT Pro subscribers in the U.S. for $200 per month, can perform actions such as booking travel, making restaurant reservations, and shopping online. Operator uses a model called the Computer-Using Agent (CUA), which combines GPT-4o's vision capabilities with advanced reasoning to navigate and interact with graphical user interfaces. The tool aims to streamline workflows and is being tested with collaborations with companies like DoorDash, Instacart, OpenTable, Priceline, StubHub, Thumbtack, and Uber. OpenAI plans to expand Operator's availability to other countries and integrate it into more of its ChatGPT services.
