VisitOpenAI Launches Canvas Beta: Document and Code Editor in ChatGPT for Plus and Team Users
Oct 3, 2024, 05:35 PM
OpenAI has launched Canvas, a new interface for ChatGPT that introduces a document and code editor built natively into the platform. Designed to enhance collaboration on writing and coding projects beyond simple chat, Canvas opens a separate window beside the normal chat interface, allowing users to create and refine ideas side by side with ChatGPT. Users can directly edit content, highlight sections for ChatGPT to focus on, and receive targeted, inline feedback. Key features include the ability to edit code inline, review code and fix bugs, add logs and comments, and port code to different languages. Canvas is available in beta starting today for ChatGPT Plus and Team users by selecting “GPT-4 with canvas” in the model picker. The new interface reflects OpenAI's ambition to create a new operating system for the AI age and is expected to significantly improve productivity in writing and coding.
