OpenAI Launches Affordable GPT-4o Mini AI Model, 60% Cheaper with 82% Accuracy

OpenAI has launched GPT-4o mini, a more affordable and efficient version of its AI model. The new model is 60% cheaper than GPT-3.5 Turbo and 99% cheaper than text-davinci-003, while achieving 82% accuracy on the MMLU benchmark compared to GPT-3.5's 69.8%. GPT-4o mini supports both text and vision APIs and features a 128K context window. It is priced at 15 cents per million input tokens and costs 60 cents per million output tokens. The model is designed to democratize advanced AI applications by making them more accessible and cost-effective. Additionally, GPT-4o mini is now available on various platforms, including Eden AI and Clarifai, and is integrated into tools like Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Discord, and Slack. OpenAI's new model is already processing over 200 billion tokens per day. GPT-4o mini is also 30x cheaper and 10x more powerful than previous models, marking a significant shift in the small language models market.
