Rebecca Cheptegei, a Ugandan marathon runner who competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, is in critical condition after suffering severe burns. The incident occurred in Eldoret, Kenya, where Cheptegei was allegedly doused with petrol and set on fire by her Kenyan partner during a quarrel. She is currently receiving treatment at Moi Referral Hospital with burns covering 75% of her body. The attack has left Cheptegei fighting for her life.
