Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters is planning to supply 55,000 Bibles to the state's Department of Education, with the only Bible meeting his criteria being the Trump Bible, endorsed by former President Donald Trump. The Trump Bible costs $60 each, and Trump receives fees for his endorsement. Four civil rights groups have filed an open-records request to investigate the funding source for this purchase. Critics argue that using millions in public education funds to buy these Bibles not only raises concerns about the separation of church and state but also appears to financially benefit Trump. Much less expensive Bibles, such as the New King James Version available for $2.99, and free Bible apps, are readily available.
