The University of Oklahoma has agreed to a new six-year contract for head football coach Brent Venables, worth $51.6 million. The deal, which has been approved by the Oklahoma Board of Regents, extends Venables' tenure through the 2029 season. Venables will earn $8.15 million in 2024, with his salary increasing to $8.6 million annually on average. This contract includes an annual $600,000 payment, bringing the total value to $51.6 million. Venables, who has led the Sooners to a 16-10 record over two seasons, received this extension as Oklahoma prepares to join the SEC.
