Jun 16, 2024, 12:30 AM
The Edmonton Oilers have taken an early lead in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers. Mattias Janmark opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at 3:11 into the first period, capitalizing on a Panthers' power play mishap. Shortly after, Adam Henrique extended the Oilers' lead to 2-0 at 7:48 of the first period, following a setup from Janmark. The Oilers' aggressive start has given them their first two-goal lead of the series. Despite a minor penalty to Darnell Nurse for a knee-on-knee hit on Sam Bennett, the Oilers managed to maintain their momentum. Bennett briefly left the game but returned to the Panthers' bench. The Oilers are looking to avoid a sweep in the series.
