VisitOhtani's 410-Foot Homer in Eighth Extends Dodgers' Lead to 7-0 in NLCS Game 3
Oct 17, 2024, 02:49 AM
In Game 3 of the National League Championship Series, Shohei Ohtani hit a towering three-run home run in the eighth inning, extending the Los Angeles Dodgers' lead over the New York Mets to 7-0. Ohtani's homer, which would have been a home run in all 30 MLB parks according to Baseball Savant, landed in the second deck of Citi Field's right field, estimated at 410 feet, just inside the right foul pole. This was Ohtani's second home run of the playoffs. Notably, he remains hitless with the bases empty but continues to excel with runners in scoring position, being 17 for his last 20 in such situations. The home run came off Mets pitcher Tylor Megill, and it silenced the crowd at Citi Field, with fans beginning to leave the stadium. The Dodgers are now in a commanding position in NLCS Game 3.
