Dec 22, 2024, 01:14 AM
Tens of thousands of Tennessee fans, estimated at up to 40,000, traveled to Columbus, Ohio, for the College Football Playoff game between No. 9 seed Tennessee and No. 6 seed Ohio State at Ohio Stadium. Despite the strong turnout of Volunteers supporters, Ohio State dominated the early stages of the game, leading 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Buckeyes amassed 205 yards of offense, while limiting Tennessee to negative yardage. Quarterback Will Howard opened the scoring with a 37-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith, followed by a 29-yard touchdown run from TreVeyon Henderson. Ohio State fans chanted 'S-E-C' to mock the Tennessee fans as their team fell behind.
