VisitOhio Officer Connor Grubb Indicted on Four Counts of Murder in Shooting of Pregnant Woman Ta’Kiya Young, Scheduled for Court on August 14
Aug 14, 2024, 06:31 AM
An Ohio police officer, Connor Grubb, has been indicted on multiple charges, including four counts of murder, in connection with the fatal shooting of Ta’Kiya Young, a 21-year-old pregnant Black woman. The incident occurred last August in a grocery store parking lot, where Young was accused of shoplifting. The grand jury's decision to indict Grubb on August 13, 2024, follows nearly a year of investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. In addition to murder charges, Grubb faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault. Grubb's attorney has indicated that they will argue the shooting was justified, claiming that Young posed a threat as she allegedly rolled her car towards the officer during the confrontation. Grubb is scheduled to appear in court on August 14, 2024.
