VisitOfficer Kristian White Found Guilty of Manslaughter for Fatal Tasering of 95-Year-Old Great-Grandmother
Nov 27, 2024, 02:50 AM
New South Wales (NSW) police officer Kristian White has been found guilty of manslaughter after fatally tasering 95-year-old great-grandmother Clare Nowland in a rural nursing home in 2023. The incident occurred when Nowland, who was holding a knife and using a walker, was tasered by White after he reportedly said 'bugger it' before firing. The Taser hit her in the chest, causing her to fall and sustain injuries from which she later died. The jury rejected claims that White acted lawfully, leading to the guilty verdict. Nowland's family sobbed as the verdict was read.
