VisitNYSE Plans to Extend Arca Trading Hours to 22 Hours Per Day, Pending SEC Approval
Oct 28, 2024, 12:13 PM
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced on Friday that it plans to extend trading hours on its electronic Arca exchange to 22 hours per day, five days a week, pending approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The proposed schedule would allow trading from 1:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. EDT every weekday, excluding holidays. This move aims to meet global demand and provide investors, particularly retail and international investors, with greater access to U.S.-listed assets, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and stocks. Currently, the Arca platform operates for 16 hours a day.
