VisitNYPD Commissioner Donlon's Home Raided by FBI, Documents from 29 Years Ago Seized
Sep 22, 2024, 03:29 AM
NYPD Interim Commissioner Tom Donlon issued a statement following an FBI raid on his residence on Friday, September 20. The raid involved search warrants executed by federal authorities who took documents related to Donlon's previous positions in the FBI, including his role as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's New York Counter-terrorism division. Donlon clarified that the materials taken were from approximately 29 years ago and were not related to his current role at the NYPD. The search is not believed to be connected to any ongoing corruption investigations involving City Hall. The reason for the search so many years after Donlon's departure from his FBI roles remains unclear, and the FBI has not commented on the matter. Donlon recently replaced Edward Caban as NYPD commissioner.
