NYC DOE Staffers Misused $66,000 for Disney Trips Meant for Homeless Students

Six former New York City Department of Education (DOE) staffers are accused of using forged permission slips to take their own children and grandchildren on city-funded trips intended for homeless students. According to a report by the NYC Special Commissioner of Investigation (SCI), these trips included a $66,000 excursion to Disney World in 2018. A supervisor is also accused of involvement. The report highlights significant misuse of funds and resources allocated for the support of homeless students.
