Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has requested South Korean memory chip maker SK Hynix to expedite the supply of its next-generation HBM4 AI memory chips by six months. This request aims to address the soaring demand for AI technology and ensure Nvidia's competitive edge in the market. Reuters reports that SK's chairman confirmed the request. SK Hynix has announced plans to supply samples of 16-layer HBM3E chips in early 2025, with HBM4 chips now targeted for delivery in the second half of 2025. The acceleration of HBM4 chip production is seen as a strategic move to meet the increasing global demand for advanced AI memory solutions. Following the news, SK Hynix shares rallied 6.5%.
