Jul 22, 2024, 08:06 AM
Nvidia is developing a version of its new flagship AI chips, Blackwell GPUs, for the Chinese market that will comply with current US export controls. The chip, tentatively named 'B20', is being developed in collaboration with Inspur, a major distributor partner in China. Shipments of the 'B20' chip are planned to start in the second quarter of 2025. Nvidia's shares rose 1.1% in premarket trading following the news. China accounted for over a quarter of Nvidia's AI chip sales before the recent trade tensions.
