VisitNvidia Accelerates HBM4 AI Chip Supply by Six Months with SK Hynix
Nov 4, 2024, 07:21 AM
Nvidia is accelerating its AI processing capabilities by expediting the supply of HBM4 chips from SK Hynix. Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang requested SK Hynix to advance the supply timeline by six months, Reuters reports. SK Hynix's chairman confirmed the request, indicating that HBM4 samples will now be available in the second half of 2025 instead of the original schedule. This move is expected to enhance Nvidia's AI processing power significantly. Additionally, SK Hynix plans to supply 16-layer HBM3E samples in early 2025. The restructuring of Supermicro orders by Nvidia is also part of the broader effort to reshape the AI supply chain. The report was published on November 4, 2024.
