Nuno Borges achieved a significant milestone by reaching the fourth round of the US Open for the first time in his career. The 27-year-old Portuguese tennis player won a thrilling match against 18-year-old Jakub Mensik on court 17, saving three consecutive match points in the fourth set tiebreak. Borges eventually triumphed with a score of 6-7(5), 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-0 after 3h17. This victory makes Borges only the second Portuguese male to reach the fourth round of the US Open, following Joao Sousa in 2018.
