A New South Wales man, identified as Newcastle doctor and father of three David Hogbin, was killed by a 4.9-meter crocodile while on holiday with his family in Cooktown, Far North Queensland. The incident occurred on Saturday when Hogbin fell into a river notorious for crocodile spotting. Authorities have since killed a 16-foot crocodile believed to be responsible for the attack, which is Australia's second fatal crocodile attack in a month. Human remains found inside the crocodile were confirmed to be those of Hogbin. His final selfless act was reportedly to save his wife’s life by ensuring she did not also fall into the river. The crocodile was shot and killed on Monday.
