VisitNorway Commits $3.2 Billion to Ukraine, 0.5% of GDP, Amid Global Support Efforts
Nov 28, 2024, 02:41 PM
Norway has significantly increased its financial commitment to Ukraine, approving $3.2 billion in aid for 2025, which represents over 0.5% of its GDP. This decision was made after the Norwegian Parliament increased the support from an initially proposed $1.36 billion, following calls from the opposition to boost assistance. The aid package includes $4.5 million for the 'Grain from Ukraine' initiative. Additionally, Norway has agreed to share responsibility with Poland for protecting the main transit hub for foreign military aid to Ukraine, as stated by Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
