Northrop Grumman ($NOC) has been selected by the United States and Japan to build the first Hypersonic Glide Phase Interceptor, a missile defense system designed to knock down attacks as they skirt through Earth's atmosphere. Northrop Grumman beat out Raytheon Technologies ($RTX) for the deal.
