Dozens of North Korean soldiers briefly crossed the Military Demarcation Line into South Korea on Tuesday, marking the second such incursion in less than two weeks, according to Yonhap. South Korean forces responded by firing warning shots, prompting the North Korean soldiers to retreat. The incident occurred near the central section of the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Additionally, several North Korean soldiers were reportedly killed or injured in a landmine explosion while working on fortifications near the DMZ, resulting in multiple casualties. The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed the incidents and noted that North Korean troops have been laying landmines and building anti-tank barriers at the border.
