North Korea has announced it will completely sever road and rail links with South Korea starting from Wednesday and fortify its side of the border. This move is in response to what it describes as 'confrontational hysteria' by South Korean and U.S. forces, including joint military exercises and the presence of U.S. strategic nuclear assets in the region. The decision, reported by state media KCNA, is aimed at permanently blocking the southern border. Additionally, South Korean intelligence has detected unusual movements and the arrival of explosives on the North Korean side, suggesting preparations to destroy inter-Korean roads along the Gyeongui and Donghae lines. The North Korean military has informed the U.S. forces to prevent accidental clashes.
