North Korea's army has announced it will completely and permanently cut off all road and railway connections to South Korea starting October 9. This move, reported by the state media KCNA, is described as a military step to completely separate the territory of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) from the Republic of Korea (ROK). The action is seen as an escalation of tensions over ongoing military drills and the presence of U.S. nuclear assets in the region.
