VisitNorth Korea to Cut Off Road and Rail Links to South Korea from October 9, Fortify Border Areas
Oct 9, 2024, 05:58 AM
North Korea has announced that it will completely cut off all road and railway connections to South Korea starting from October 9, 2024. This move, reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), is seen as a response to ongoing military drills and the presence of U.S. nuclear assets in the region. The North Korean army has stated that it will also fortify the areas on its side of the border. The decision aims to permanently shut off and block the southern border, citing self-defence against 'confrontational hysteria' by South Korean and U.S. forces. North Korea has informed the U.S. military to prevent any accidental clashes.
