VisitNo. 5 Indiana Takes Early 7-0 Lead Over No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus
Nov 23, 2024, 05:26 PM
Indiana, which hasn't beaten Ohio State since 1988, took an early 7-0 lead over the Buckeyes in Columbus on Saturday. After winning the coin toss and deferring, the No. 5 Hoosiers forced a three-and-out on No. 2 Ohio State's opening possession. Indiana's offensive line dominated Ohio State's NFL-caliber defensive line during an 11-play, 70-yard drive that consumed over six minutes. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke converted multiple third downs, aided by two defensive pass interference penalties. Running back Ty Son Lawton capped the drive with a two-yard touchdown on a direct snap. This is only the second time in 26 Big Ten games that Ohio State has allowed an opening-drive touchdown. The game has significant implications for the Big Ten Championship.
