Ninth Circuit Upholds Constitutional Ban on Gun Sales on California State Property

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Tuesday that California laws banning gun sales on state property, including county fairs and other public spaces, do not violate the First or Second Amendments. The court stated that while gun sales are prohibited on state property, attendees of gun shows can still peruse offers and complete transactions off-site. This decision upholds the ban that a federal judge had previously ruled violated the rights of firearm buyers and sellers. The ruling confirms that gun sellers and buyers remain free to conduct their transactions elsewhere. The federal appeals court found the ban to be constitutional.
