Nintendo Acquires Shiver Entertainment from Embracer to Enhance Next-Gen Switch Game Ports, Including Hogwarts Legacy

Nintendo has announced the acquisition of Shiver Entertainment, a Miami-based studio known for porting games such as Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 to the Nintendo Switch. This marks Nintendo's first acquisition since 2022. Shiver Entertainment was previously owned by Embracer Group. The acquisition aims to bolster resources for bringing more high-end games from outside developers to Nintendo's next-generation Switch platform, which is expected to be less powerful compared to the PS5 and XSX. This follows Embracer Group's $460 million deal with Take-Two in March.
