VisitNikki Haley Garners 34% in Hamilton County, Challenges Trump in Indiana GOP Primary
May 8, 2024, 03:43 AM
In the Indiana Republican primary, despite having withdrawn from the race two months earlier, Nikki Haley has unexpectedly captured a significant portion of the vote. With more than 95% of votes counted, Haley has secured 34% in Hamilton County, which includes GOP-leaning suburbs such as Carmel, Fishers, and Noblesville. Statewide, she is on track to receive around 20% of the vote. This performance is notably strong in areas like Bartholomew County, home to Mike Pence, where Donald Trump garnered only 66% of the vote. Trump, meanwhile, has secured approximately 76% of the statewide vote. Haley's post-campaign support suggests she remains a formidable influence within the party, posing potential challenges for Trump.
