Japan's Seven & i Holdings has received a takeover offer from Canadian convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard. The proposal, reported by a Nikkei scoop, is currently under review by a committee of directors at Seven & i. If successful, the acquisition would likely be among the largest-ever purchases of a Japanese company by an overseas firm.
