NHTSA Reaffirms Danger of 51M Airbag Inflators, Moves Closer to Recall

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reaffirmed its decision that over 51 million airbag inflators in 49 million vehicles pose significant safety risks. These inflators, which can explode in a crash and hurl shrapnel into drivers and passengers, are manufactured by 13 different companies. The U.S. is moving closer to a massive recall to address this ongoing safety issue.
