The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring several areas in the Atlantic for potential tropical cyclone formation. These areas include a disturbance in the Caribbean with a low chance of development and a frontal low in the subtropical East Atlantic with a 30% chance of developing subtropical characteristics. The systems are not currently a threat to the US. Forecasters are observing the potential for a late-season hybrid system to form over the open Atlantic, but it is not expected to pose a land threat. With only 10 days left in the hurricane season, experts are keeping a close eye on these areas of interest.
