Newark Mayor Condemns ICE Raid Without Warrant at Ocean Seafood Depot, U.S. Citizens Detained

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted a raid on Thursday at Ocean Seafood Depot, a business in Newark's Ironbound section, detaining undocumented immigrants as well as U.S. citizens, including a military veteran whose documentation was questioned. Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka condemned the operation, stating that ICE agents did not produce a warrant and violated constitutional rights. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman also criticized the raid and called for more information. City officials and immigrant rights advocates demanded answers, accusing ICE of unlawful and unconstitutional actions.
